A qualified guess - knowing Hugo Larsen's life and doings - is that this motif is from the beach around Lundeborg looking towards the island of Langeland, the inspiring factors being the sea and the weather, of course. What is less obvious is why the artist signed and dated the painting in the first place and subsequently chose to paint signature and dating over. Good guesses are welcome.
